Easy assembly mini books using color coding

For the past 2 weeks, we’ve been doing a ‘Pets’ theme. In our small groups, we read a simple “I see…” story in our pocket chart. Then I had the kids assemble mini-books. I wanted them to be able to be as independent as possible. So I drew a colored line on each page of the mini-book. The text that they needed to glue on the page had the same color line underneath the letters. The picture for each page also had a colored line around it that matched an empty box on the page. The kids needed very little help to assemble their mini-books and were very proud of having put them together on their own! Image
